Meridian Leisure Centre in Peacehaven, East Sussex, has been rebranded as Peacehaven Leisure Centre by its operator, sports trust Wave Leisure.

Leisure centre manager Stewart Angell said: "Anyone living outside the immediate area of the centre would have no idea we were located in the town.

“The name change helps put us at the heart of our local community too, and the reaction from our customers and partners has been very positive."

Alongside the name change, the centre has introduced Wave Leisure's first indoor cycling class programme, Rev's Up, and a new weight management programme called Freshstart.

The centre will be running three Rev's Up classes each week using Reebok Tomahawk bikes and is offering free taster sessions every Saturday morning.

The Freshstart programme is a new concept for the Trust and has been specially designed for Wave Leisure to help reach those who may not normally visit a leisure centre but want help and support changing their lifestyle.

After an initial pilot at Peacehaven, Wave Leisure will roll the scheme out across its other four centres next spring.
