Miami challenge to get fit

The Mayor of Miami-Dade County has challenged workers to ‘get fit, eat right and chill out’.

The new Corporate Challenge is the latest addition to the Health and Fitness Challenge, which Mayor Penelas launched last year in partnership with the Health Foundation of South Florida and Mercy Hospital.

The challenge was launched in response to an article in Men’s Fitness, which ranked Miami 24th in its listing of America’s Fattest Cities.

"With the Mayor's Health and Fitness Challenge and now the Corporate Challenge, we are not only providing essential health screenings and fun fitness events to residents throughout the county but we're also encouraging them to adopt a healthier lifestyle," said Mayor Penelas.
