Milton Keynes gym expansion starts
Kiss Gyms has announced that work has now commenced on a GBP150,000 expansion project at the privately-owned health club chain's first site in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.
The gym became one of the first 24-hour facilities in the region after being unveiled in early 2011, following the remodelling of a former children's activity play centre by Createability.
Createability has now been appointed to undertake an eight-week redevelopment of the Kiss Gyms site in Milton Keynes, which will increase in size to 15,500sq ft (1,440sq m).
The scheme will include removing the wall between the gym and the nursery school area, as well as the installation of a balcony balustrade so the new section mirrors the existing gym.
Kiss Gyms chief executive officer Rupert MacKenzie-Hill said: "The club currently has more male members than female, so we are hoping to address that balance.
"We are adding Matrix MyRide technology with an animated spin instructor so that we can offer classes too." The new area will also feature a Functional Training 'playground'.
