Minister: No World Cup bid without FIFA changes
Hugh Robertson, the minister for sport and the Olympics, has revealed that England will not bid to host the football World Cup unless FIFA becomes more transparent and accountable.
In response to Folkestone and Hythe MP Damien Collins, Robertson told Parliament that a another application to host the event was "unlikely" before 2030. Robertson said: "Any decision would be considered on its merits, but I would expect a far greater degree of transparency and accountability in FIFA before we could consider any future bid."
