Minister for tourism outlines ‘Going for Growth’ strategy at 2005 Scotland United Conference
Scottish tourism minister Patricia Ferguson MSP revealed the draft Strategy for Tourism in Scotland at the fifth annual Scotland United Conference last week.
In her keynote speech to over 300 delegates at the St Andrews Bay Golf Resort & Spa on Monday 21 November, the minister outlined the Scottish Executive’s vision of ‘making Scotland a must-visit, must-return destination’.
In his speech at the British Hospitality Association (BHA)-sponsored dinner on the evening of Sunday 20 November, BHA chief executive Bob Cotton stressed some of the benefits devolution presented for regional tourism, in particular a higher profile in government.
