Mission 2012 moving forward
UK Sport is asking elite athletes to feedback on the support they need in order for Great Britain to achieve the aim of being in the top four at the 2012 Olympics.
Launched last week, the 2007 athlete survey will update similar surveys conducted in 2003 and 1999, and will provide sport-specific data for Mission 2012 monitoring. All 1,380 athletes in the World Class Podium and Development programmes have been asked to respond.
“The survey provides respondents with the opportunity to feedback on their experiences of being an elite athlete so that, if necessary, the relevant improvements can be made,” said UK Sport’s research and policy manager, Jerry Bingham.
“Once the completed data has been collated, the sport-specific results will then be made available to National Governing Bodies in January to help inform their own Mission 2012 progress.”
