Moana Surfrider Westin resort to gain a spa
The Moana Surfrider on Waikiki Beach in Hawaii has officially opened as a Westin resort, following an extensive update by parent company Starwood.
The landmark resort, dubbed the First Lady of Waikiki, was built in 1901. The Starwood revamp retained much of the original Victorian architecture of the hotel while installing modern amenities.
A large spa is also scheduled to open at the historic hotel early next year. The spa will be situated on the beachfront and will feature 14 treatment rooms, including two couple’s rooms and a 1,400sqft (130sq m) fitness facility.
