Molten's new ball gets its own website
The Molten Corporation has launched both a revolutionary new basketball and a new website to promote it.
The company's G-Series ball features a new Dual-Cushion technology and is now making its debut as the official International Basketball Federation (FIBA) game ball.
The new technology involves a high density/high cushion foam between the surface and the reinforcing layer and a special soft rubber in the panel seams, claimed to give the ball a soft feel while maintaining the rebound speed of normal balls.
Other innovations are a flatter finish to the usual pebble surface, designed to give a greater area of contact, and flatter seams between the panels, a move aimed at producing consistent backspin for accurate shooting and passing.
The G-Series, created by Giugiaro Design, consists of six balls, ranging from the pro GL7 through to the GR7 for budding beginners. The web site can be found at www.molten-g17.com/english/
