Moray Leisure has reopened
Moray Leisure Centre in Elgin, Invernesshire, has reopened most of its facilities to customers following a month-long closure for urgent repairs.
Freezing conditions over the New Year period resulted in damage to the pipes in the air handling and heating systems. The consequent flood damage has cost around £100,000 to fix.
The gym and studio are now back in action, although the air temperature may be higher than normal while the heating system is being reviewed.
Unfortunately, the swimming pool remains closed until further notice.
Opening hours at the Eating Well Cafe are now back to normal and the Art Class has also resumed.
Manager Steve Ash told The Press and Journal: “We are going to have to work quite hard to get the place going again.
“We have to make up the losses of the past few weeks.”
