More leisure facilities for Chester development
Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWCC) is planning "greater leisure content" as part of the Northgate Project, after taking over the retail-led development.
The council has ended its agreement with ING Real Estate Developers for the scheme, which will complement the theatre, Town Hall Square and Cathedral Precinct proposals.
Under the latest plans, CWCC has added a multiplex cinema and an increased number of restaurants to the development. A central market and new, improved library also feature.
CWCC executive member for prosperity Herbert Manley said: "The concept provides a vision for the progress, which Chester so badly needs.
"A considerable amount of work remains to develop a scheme which will generate the support and buy in to move forward to the planning stage."
