More record profits from Greene King
Bury St. Edmunds -based brewer, Greene King, has announced its results for the year to 2 May.
Chair, David McCall, said: "I am very pleased to be able to report on another year of record results, with increases in both turnover and pretax profit."
Turnover rose 3 per cent to £552.7m, EBITDA was up 7 per cent to £136.9m, trading profit gained 8 per cent to £111.8m and profit before tax was £82.6m, a rise of 10 per cent.
All three of the company's divisions traded strongly, with Brewing Company seeing its trading profit rise 21 per cent on increased sales volumes of its three principal beers – IPA, Abbot Ale and Old Speckled Hen.
Pub Company trading profit was up 4 per cent and Pub Partners up 9 per cent.
The first two months of the new financial year are reported to have started well.
