Simon Morton has been appointed director of major events and international relations at UK Sport.

This is a new post created following a realignment of the agency's senior team, after COO Tim Hollingsworth left to join the British Paralympic Association as CEO.

"We plan to use the opportunities made by London and Glasgow to establish the UK as a leading host of major international events. Our relationships with international sporting federations are extremely important, and we need to support the international community in promoting, governing and developing sport," Morton says.
