Mother Mash concept to debut at Carnaby
A new ‘fast-casual’ restaurant concept will debut in September at London’s Carnaby development.
Called Mother Mash, the restaurant will cover 785sq ft (72.9sq m) and be situated on Ganton Street.
Intended to be a contemporary version of traditional East End pie and mash shops, the menu at Mother Mash will feature a selection of freshly prepared mashed potato variations alongside British gourmet sausages and home-made pies.
Originally intended for the City, the owners of Mother Mash decided that the Carnaby site was more in keeping for the inaugural restaurant. The site was found by leisure property group Davis Coffer Lyons (DCL).
Teresa Crossett of DCL said: “Mother Mash draws on traditional design cues and reinvents them for today, giving them a modern twist that fits perfectly with Carnaby’s cutting-edge street style – both represent the reinvention of a modern British icon.”
The developer responsible for Carnaby’s transformation is Shaftesbury.
