Mountain biking resort to 'boost appeal'
Angel Fire Resort in New Mexico, US, has revealed "aggressive plans" to boost its appeal to mountain bikers with the addition of 20 miles (32km) of new trails this summer.
Work is due to start on the latest phase of its expansion on 1 May, with more than 11 miles (18km) of lift-accessible trails added to Angel Fire Bike Park last year.
The trails being created this year will have a focus on beginner and intermediate experiences and once complete, will see the resort offer 60 miles (97km) of mountain biking trails.
Angel Fire Bike Park director Hogan Koesis said: "No other bike destination in the Rockies is doing what we're doing right now.
"We have the incredible benefits of widely varying terrain, a privately owned mountain on which to develop a trail network, a long season to build and the full support of our resort ownership."
• In July 2012, the resort announced its plans to complement the development of its Bike Park with the addition of new Zipline Adventure Tours for thrill-seeking visitors.
