Mouse Castle Golf Club set for revamp
Proposals for a £40m upgrade of the Mouse Castle Golf Club at Eastend, Cleghorn, in Scotland, have been submitted for public consultation.
Lanarkshire-based Ringsdale Leisure has put forward an outline of the scheme to South Lanarkshire Council. If approved, the 5.2-acre (2-hectare) sporting resort will feature a revamped golf course, a new castle-style clubhouse with a swimming pool and a golf training academy, a gym and a health spa, in addition to a two-tier driving range/PGA putting green and Short Game facilities. Two existing golf courses at the site will also be upgraded by a signature golf professional.
The venture is being developed in association with 110Sport Group, which will organise all professional golfing and snooker events and sports scholarships at the five-star resort, including the annual European Tour in 10 years' time.
The development will also feature a 150-bedroom hotel of medium-sized and executive suites and 15 onsite chalets, complemented by a restaurant, spa and gym facilities, a banqueting and conference space, as well as a private casino and a snooker venue.
Work on site is expected to begin this October, with the resort opening in December.
