Multi-million Euro refurbishment of Cork hotel completed
Cork’s 3-star Quality Hotel & Leisure Centre in the historic Shandon area has reopened after a EUR8m refurbishment.
The work involved refurbishing the existing 65 bedrooms and building a further 36 and the construction of a new Club Vitae Leisure Club. The latter features a swimming pool, sauna, jetpool, steamroom, large gym, aerobics studio and Le Spa Vitae beauty treatment rooms.
Dedicated meeting room facilities for 100 delegates have been provided, plus a Lannigans Steakhouse, the Quality Hotel brand standard American-style restaurant.
The hotel is owned by Galway property developer, Tom Coyle, but under the management of Quality Hotels, one of the Choice Hotels brands.
Choice operates 18 hotels throughout Eire and – in addition to the refurbished Shandon Quality Hotel – has just opened a EUR30m Quality Hotel & Leisure Centre in Wexford and recently taken over Ryan Hotels in Killarney, Limerick and Galway. Details: www.choicehotelsireland.ie
