Muse chosen to lead Warrington scheme
Muse Developments has been chosen by Warrington Borough Council's (WBC) executive board to lead the regeneration of the town's Bridge Street area.
The appointment follows consultation between the council, Warrington and Co - the town's urban regeneration partnership, and the Manchester offices of GVA and Cobbetts. A gym; a cinema; a cultural centre; a hotel; and restaurants are among the facilities that have been earmarked for the 6 hectare (14.8-acre) site, along with shops and council offices.
Work is expected to commence on site in 2013, although a firm timetable for the scheme is to be drawn up over the coming months. A consultation will also take place next year. WBC leader Terry O'Neill said: "This scheme will completely transform the town centre; bringing new jobs to the local area and providing the entertainment and leisure facilities that are currently missing but needed.
