Museums study beauty
Two of London's top museums will be delving into the world of beauty later this month.
On 25 October, the Victoria and Albert will hold a 'Friday Late View' event entitled Short Cut to Beauty. Highlights will include a speech by a multimedia artist, a debate, tours with national beauty editors, and the chance to see a virtual image of yourself after plastic surgery.
The evening will include a V&A Day of RecordTM to photograph volunteers who've altered their shape with surgery or bodybuilding.
The Science Museum will continue the theme on 26 October, with a Science of Beauty day exploring aspects of beauty. A poet, a scientist, a plastic surgeon and a holistic beauty therapist will be on hand. Details: +44 (0)20 7942 4000 or www.vam.ac.uk
