NBA partners with Jubilee Hall Trust
Jubilee Hall Trust has agreed a unique partnership with the National Basketball Association (NBA) to hire Jubilee Hall in Covent Garden for 17 days to create a celebration of basketball from the end of July through mid-August.
The event will see the iconic Jubilee Hall building transformed into the 'NBA House' offering members of the public the opportunity to participate in basketball activities and interactive elements.
Although this means that the gym will not be open for normal business from Monday 30th July to Wednesday 15th August, the partnership agreement will enable Jubilee Hall Trust to make a number of improvements to the facilities and equipment at the gym, as well as to fund a range of community programmes, which include dance classes for older adults and MEND programmes for obese children.
In addition, Jubilee Hall Trust will be working with the 'NBA Cares' programme to execute six basketball skills clinics for disadvantaged young people, providing a genuine legacy after this summer.
