NEC Group unveils Barclaycard partnership
The NEC Group, the operator of venues such as Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre, has announced a five-year sponsorship agreement with credit card firm Barclaycard.
The deal sees Barclaycard become the payment partner for the NEC Group-owned ticketing agent The Ticket Factory, as well as the LG Arena and the National Indoor Arena (NIA).
Under the agreement, it is proposed the NIA will become known as the NIA, A Barclaycard Unwind Experience as part of the venue's £20.6m revamp to be carried out by 2014.
Barclaycard Unwind is the name of the firm's free benefits programme, which will expand with new offers for NEC Group venues. Payment innovations will also be introduced.
NEC Group chief executive Paul Thandi said: "This partnership fits our business philosophy around providing meaningful live experiences for our customers."
