NEC launches TALIA
Electronics company, NEC, is to launch TALIA, claimed to be the world’s most advanced interactive entertainment system for hotel rooms.
The introduction of the new package – Travel and Leisure Interactive Applications – signals a drive by NEC to dominate the European market for in-room entertainment.
Key features for guests include access to high quality film content and a comprehensive music library by genre; broadband internet connectivity via tv and laptop; on demand functionality; access to digital television and radio channels and various billing options.
Operators benefit from the provision of a full audit trail and detailed usage statistics; delivery of new films and music via the internet; a personalised system complying with existing hotel branding; customisable menus supporting a range of languages and a series of additional services integrated into the in-room tv.
The system can be managed and monitored from a central control centre. NEC will act as the primary contractor and installer for TALIA, with Amino providing AmiNet 210H miniature STB for guest rooms and Yes TV- supplying its In Room Lite software platform.
