NERC chair appointed
The secretary of state for trade and industry, Alistair Darling, has announced that Ed Wallis is to become the new chair of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC).
Wallis will succeed Sir Rob Margetts on 1 January for a period of four years. He said: “NERC is currently at the forefront in tackling global issues such as climate change, so I’m delighted to be appointed chair during these important times. I look forward to taking up the reins in the new year.” Details: www.nerc.ac.uk
