NHM injects new life into Jurassic Coast
The Natural History Museum in London, UK, has been appointed by a local authority/ SWRDA partnership led by Dorset County Council to undertake an assessment of interpretation facilities currently available to people visiting the fossil-rich Jurassic Coast area.
The museum will work with local museums and heritage organisations to assess the range and quality of information available to the public. The NHM's subsequent report will include an appraisal of current provision, strategies to achieve consistent messages which help to identify and promote the Jurassic Coast across the varying visitor attractions and information points, as well as advice on developing the range of interpretation media.
The Dorset and East Devon Coast has UNESCO World Heritage status.
