NHS Warrington approves Orford Park funding
NHS Warrington's board has approved a multi-million pound contribution towards part of the £30m Orford Park development in Warrington, Cheshire.
Subject to the North West Strategic Health Authority's final approval, nearly £4.7m is to be invested in the construction of the Orford Park Primary Care Resource Centre. The facility will form part of the wider Orford Park health and leisure development, which is being led by Warrington Borough Council.
A community sports hub building is to be built, comprising swimming pools; a fitness suite; dance studios; squash courts; a sports hall; and activity and meeting rooms. Outdoor facilities will include walking and cycling paths around new grass pitches; a floodlit bowling green; a pavilion; and a skateboarding and BMX cycling area.
NHS Warrington is to base three GP practices in the building, along with its lifestyles team and a pharmacy.
