NWLDC set to retain leisure responsibility
North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC) is poised to retain responsibility for the operation of local leisure centres.
A report due to go before the council's cabinet on 14 December will recommend that private sector involvement is ruled out in favour of keeping the service in-house. NWLDC leisure champion Trever Pendleton said: "We have succeeded in delivering on a number of savings targets, which now makes further significant savings from the private sector unlikely."
