British hospitality group New World Trading Company (NWTC) has launched The Florist – a gardenesque restaurant and bar with vibrantly coloured cherry blossom trees in Watford, UK.

Situated in the city's intu shopping mall, which recently underwent a £180m (US$234.5m, €210.1m) rehaul, the new dining outlet occupies a total area 9,000 sq ft (836.1 sq m) and features an array of fittings that brings to mind Parisian flower shops.

Boasting plant-covered walls, hanging lanterns, pedimented doorways, and bespoke graffiti by Bristol-based artist Jody Thomas, The Florist's interiors are an eclectic hodgepodge of neoclassical and bohemian chic styles.

A spokesperson from NWTC told CLAD that the space was designed by the company's in-house interior specialists, who aimed to craft an "aesthetic that would charm the senses".

In a statement, David Morbin, general manager at The Florist, said: "We're really excited to have opened The Florist at intu Watford.

"The centre is already a very popular and vibrant retail and leisure destination and we're very pleased to be offering a new dining and drinking experience to this affluent catchment."
