'Napoleonland' planned for France
Yves Jégo, the mayor of Montereau-Fault-Yonne commune in central France, has announced plans to build a historical theme park celebrating the life of Napoleon Bonaparte, the former French emperor.
The park would be located just outside Montereau, south east of Paris - the site of the former French leader's most famous victory against the Austrian army in 1814.
Jégo said that he is looking to secure funding of around €200m (£166m, US$259m) for the park, which is set to include a number of attractions, a re-enactment battlefield, a museum, a hotel, restaurants, a retail park and a congress centre.
Targeting families, Jégo hopes to create a rival to existing attractions such as Puy du Fou and Parc Asterix.
Despite being one of the most famous French leaders of all time, Napoleon's controversial reign means that he doesn't have a national museum named after him.
