National Lottery Awards finalists named
Three sports projects and three heritage projects are among those to have been confirmed as finalists in the National Lottery Awards 2011, following a public vote at the semi-final stage.
Chase Trails Cycle Project; Active Newcastle; and The Bluebird Care Hampshire Disability Cricket Programme are all in the running for the Best Sport Project award. Meanwhile, Best Heritage Project will be contested by Wentworth Castle and Stainborough Park; We Were Brothers: WWI A Shared Heritage; and Unfolding the Quilts.
Other categories up for grabs include Best Arts Project - featuring Razed Roof: Inclusion Through Practice; mac Birmingham; Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance Theatre; and The Smiling Sessions. The arts category comprises four projects due to a tie for third place in the semi-finals. The awards also includes health, environment and voluntary/charity categories.
A public vote will be held to decide the winner of each category in September.
