National Marine Aquarium wins art award
Plymouth’s National Marine Aquarium has won an award in The Big Draw 2003 campaign awards, which were held recently in London.
The Big Draw series of events are part of the Guild of St. George’s Campaign For Drawing.
It is held every year in a variety of sites around the UK, aimed at encouraging people of all ages to draw and get creative.
The National Marine Aquarium hosted a variety of ArtyFishAll events and activities and won the Drawing Inspiration Award for the best event outside formal education for children under 14 years old.
The National Marine Aquarium’s resident artist, Juliana Depledge, said: “The Aquarium is an inspiring venue for anyone who wants to try their hand at drawing and painting.
“It’s open to everyone including people who have never drawn before, or who haven’t pickled up a pencil for many years.” Details: www.national-aquarium.co.uk
