National Pub Football Week (NPFW) is currently underway, after being launched on Monday by former England manager, Terry Venables.

Venables was just one of the celebrities at a launch event in London who helped kick off the 2004 NPFW that will run from 22 May to 31 May in around 18,000 pubs in the UK.

Beginning with the FA Cup final last Saturday, upcoming NPFW highlights will include the UEFA Champions League Final and Play-Off finals while fans will also be able to cash in on thousands of football-related competitions and giveaways from supporting brands including Coca Cola, Pepsi, Budweiser, Carling, Stella, Tennent’s Lager WKD, Guinness and John Smiths.

Venables said: “National Pub Football Week is a huge week for football and makes the pub the place to watch the crucial games at the crux of the football season.”

NPFW project co-ordinator, Carolyn Lord, added: “This week promises to be an exhilarating event for football fans across the UK who will be enjoying the electric atmosphere of watching top class live football in the pub.” Details: www.nationalpubweek.co.uk
