Natural materials meet contemporary Thai style in Chiva-Som redesign
Thai wellness destination Chiva-Som has redesigned 23 of its Ocean Rooms as part of an upgrade to the resort.
Designed by US architect Ed Tuttle of Paris-based Designrealization, the decor uses clean lines to deliver cool, contemporary interiors while retaining the essence of Chiva-Som style. The new rooms are light, bright and spacious, having been completely reconfigured to include a separate wardrobe and dressing room.
The look is a luxurious, contemporary Thai design and features a light colour palette of gold and ivory, while rich fabrics and natural trimmings provide accents in muted forest green and wood tones. Abstract artwork in gold across one wall casts a warm glow, and the lighting technology provides five settings to suit all times of the day and states of mind.
Wooden floors and natural materials have been selected throughout to respect the brand personality, while floor-to-ceiling French doors overlooking a terrace or balcony draw the outside in, allowing guests to interact with the therapeutic natural surroundings of the resort while in their room.
“I am so proud that Chiva-Som continues to go from strength to strength and we have so much more to offer for the years to come,” said Sheila McCann, general manager.
“The new decor is simple and elegant and these new rooms will allow us to provide the highest standard of services and comfort in a tailor-made environment.”
Chiva-Som was also recently recognised for its corporate social responsibility projects.
