New £21.1m Glenrothes centre top open in July
A £21.1m (US$32.7m, €24.7m) leisure centre in Glenrothes, Scotland is in the final stages of construction ahead of a planned opening later this summer.
The Michael Woods Sports & Leisure Centre will be ready to open at the end of July after work to correct a defect last month was rectified.
The new centre will offer a 25 metre, eight-lane swimming pool with a 250-person spectator gallery, a training pool with an underwater movable floor and a teaching pool.
The facility will also include an 80-station gym, strength and conditioning studio, aerobics studio, eight badminton court sports hall and two squash courts.
Outside there will also be an 11-aside synthetic pitch, three five-aside synthetic pitches, a seven aside synthetic pitch and upgrade to the current athletics track.
Also in Kirkcaldy, work continues on the construction of a new £15.3m (US$23.7m, €17.9m) leisure centre as part of the £55m (US$85.2m, €64.6m) Future of Leisure programme which will see a total of three leisure centres built in the Fife area.
