New England Patriots unveil new visitor centre
The New England Patriots, the American Football team based in Foxborough, Massachusetts, have opened a new visitor centre.
The Hall at Patriot Place, which hosts the team’s Hall of Fame, is located next to the team’s Gillette Stadium, which opened in 2002.The 36,000sq ft (3,345sq m) visitor centre features a number of interactive exhibits, including one where guests learn how the Head Coach Bill Belichick designs plays.
A 48ft-wide movie screen will show a 15-minute film of the Patriots’ history and there is a tunnel based on the team tunnel at Gillette Stadium, where an audio track of cheering fans sounds when visitors walk through.
A geodesic dome-shaped exhibit called Snow Game features a projection of footage of the team playing in snow, while two other projectors contribute snow effects.
Electrosonic provided the technology for the displays, many of which were designed by Cambridge Seven Associates.
