New Mind to help establish Outer Hebrides as 'must-visit' destination
New Mind, the Liverpool-based provider of e-Tourism solutions, has been appointed to help establish Scotland's Outer Hebrides as a "must-visit" tourist destination.
The £150,000 scheme is led by the Outer Hebrides Tourism Industry Association (OHTIA) and includes the development of a new brand identity and comprehensive destination website.
It is hoped that the initiative will attract more domestic and international visitors to the region, which already welcomes 200,000 tourists a year. The sector is worth £50m to the local economy.
OHTIA chair Ian Fordham said: "We hope this will encourage more people to visit more of our islands and stay longer than they otherwise would."
