New Northern Ireland heritage trail launched
A new 92-mile (148km) signed driving route - the St Patrick's Trail - has been launched in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland.
The trail links a series of key Patrician and Christian heritage sites across the province, with four areas - Armagh, Newry, Downpatrick and Bangor - each featuring a 'hub' venue. One of five major capital Signature Projects identified by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, the trail received £3.5m from the Programme for Government, Tourism Development Scheme.
