New Radisson Blu hotel for South African national park
Rezidor Hotels is to open the Radisson Blu Safari Resort Kruger Park, a new build 120-room property in South Africa scheduled to welcome its first guests in Q2 2013.
The hotel will be located inside the southern border of the Kruger National Park, 10km (6.2 miles) from the Malelane Gate on the Crocodile River. In addition to 104 rooms and 16 suites with private terraces, the resort will offer an all day dining restaurant, a typical 'boma' outdoor dining and entertainment area, a cigar bar and a pool bar and terrace.
Other facilities are to include five conference rooms, two swimming pools, a 350sq m (3,800sq ft) spa/wellness centre, a gym, game viewing Crocodile River decks, a children's club and an environmental awareness centre. Safaris will depart daily from the hotel to the main game viewing areas of the park, one of 19 in the country. It covers an area of almost 20,000sq km (7,700sq miles), includes three different eco-zones and is home to more than 1,900 species of plants and 147 animal species.
