A new motorsports venue being built in Austin, Texas, US - poised to host its first Formula One Grand Prix next year - has been named Circuit of the Americas.
The Austin venue will be one of the first purpose-built Grand Prix facilities in the US and is to become the national home of Formula One and MotoGP racing events. Circuit of the Americas will boast a 3.4-mile (5.5km) track designed by Tilke Engineers and Architects and capacity for 120,000 fans, as well as a medical trauma and care training site.
Executive meeting suites; a conference centre; a banquet hall; and an outdoor live music area are also proposed as part of the scheme, which also involves Dallas-based HKS.
