New Zealand's cityfitness to offer 'garage-style training approach'

New Zealand-based gym operator cityfitness has announced plans to introduce a "garage-style training approach" alongside its core offer at select clubs over the coming months.
The chain will roll out new Training Zones at the chosen locations - a separate "user pays" section incorporating three fitness programmes that includes TRX Suspension Training
Boxmaster and CrossFit services will also be offered in the new Training Zones, which is part of cityfitness' bid to provide programmes that "better cater" for New Zealanders.
cityfitness managing director Dominic Rogerson said: "Part of our mission in doing this is to provide service to those who don't necessarily want gym memberships.
"With several new international gym chains entering the New Zealand market, we saw this as a way to really differentiate cityfitness as a market leader and provider of a more personalised fitness solution."
• The announcement comes as cityfitness - launched in 2000 - signed an agreement to open a new facility at the former Harbour Fitness in Wairau Park, Glenfield, Auckland.
