New additions to PortAventura
The PortAventura theme park on the Costa Daurada in Spain will add a hotel and a range of new rides during 2009.
A spokesperson said the park's 34,000sq m Caribe Aquatic zone will receive a new water ride as well as new rides for children, but added that further details would be revealed in early spring 2009.
The park will also open a new hotel – the resort's fourth – to cater for the increase in foreign visitors.
The new hotel will be called the Far West Hotel and will include a new convention and exhibition centre as part of the park's strategy of attracting more corporate events to the site. During 2008, the park added a total of three golf courses on site, all designed by Australian Greg Norman.
