New adiZone facility opens at Swansea school
Swansea Council has announced the completion of a new adiZone at the city's Pentrehafod Comprehensive School - the first such multi-sports facility of its kind in Wales.
The concept has been devised by sports kit manufacturer adidas as part of an effort to grow sports participation ahead of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Welsh Assembly Government and Swansea Council cash went towards the provision of the adiZone, which offers facilities for basketball, football, climbing, tennis and aerobics.
Swansea Council's development and outreach manager Ian Benyon said: "The adiZone will be of tremendous benefit to both the school and the community at large."
