New boutique hotels to open in England
The House Collection, a new group of boutique hotels, is set to open its first hotels in the east of England.
The first hotel will be the Poet's House in Cambridgeshire, which will open in March 2013, with a second hotel in the Cambridge area to follow soon afterwards.
Located near the cathedral in the centre of Ely, the Poet's House will be a restored three-story property with 21 individually styled bedrooms.
The restaurant will serve contemporary cuisine with seasonal specialities.
Other facilities include a function room opening onto the gardens, which will have capacity for 100 guests.
The House Collection has been set up by three former members of the senior management team at the Belfry hotel in Warwickshire.
David Toulson-Burke, Ian Cross and Jonathan Baker aim to create a portfolio of unique 'luxury house hotels' with no more than 45 bedrooms.
Managing director of the House Collection, Toulson-Burke, said: "Designed with discerning guests in mind, our hotels will meet growing demand for high-quality hospitality in mid-Anglia and the Cambridge area.
"A great deal of care is being invested into every aspect of the design of Poet's House. With the emphasis on style, comfort and attention to detail, we will offer our guests a very different experience to mainstream hotels."
