New chair for European Cruise Council
The European Cruise Council (ECC), which represents the interests of the world's cruise lines within Europe, has appointed Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio, chair of Silversea Cruises, as its new chair.
Mr Lefebvre takes over the position from David Dingle, Carnival UK's chief executive, on 1 April. Pierfrancesco Vago, chief executive of MSC Crociere, assumes the role of ECC vice chair.
Set up in 2004, the ECC campaigns within the EU on all issues relating to cruise shipping policy whilst promoting the expansion of the European cruise market.
