New classification scheme for Namibia Tourism Board
The Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) has introduced a new quality standards classification scheme for its tourism industry to include all accommodation providers and all tourism-related businesses.
Setting out a minimum level of standards, the classification scheme is intended to boost confidence among both international and domestic travellers.
Classified businesses will display the NTB logo and hold a registration certificate on site.
The NTB’s strategic executive manager, Shareen Thude, said: “A credible quality assurance scheme is a fundamental principle of Namibia’s tourism growth strategy.
“The new scheme allows room for flexibility and creativity but it will essentially guide both the accommodation provider and visitor as to what comfort levels can be expected.” Details: www.namibiatourism.com.na
