New cultural strategy for Forest Heath
Forest Health District Council (FHDC) has launched a new consultation to gather views on a proposed new cultural strategy for the area, which aims to boost access for residents and visitors.
The new document is centred around five key themes - access to cultural provision; education; community involvement; the environment; and youth involvement - and is now open for public comment. A spokesperson for FHDC said: "The council's vision for culture in Forest Heath is to ensure that all residents of, and visitors to, Forest Heath have equal access to every cultural opportunity the district has to offer.
"We endeavour to develop our range of cultural offerings through education and increased community involvement and strengthen our cultural diversity by protecting and enhancing the natural assets which are present here in our unique district." The consultation will close on 6 September, with responses used to guide the final version of the strategy before it is submitted for consideration.
