New cycle route for Bognor Regis
West Sussex County Council (WSCC) has officially opened a new 1km (0.6-mile) cycle route along the promenade in Bognor Regis.
A 'bike master' surgery was held to mark the launch of the route - between Sea Road in Felpham and Gloucester Road in Bognor Regis - to provide cycle maintenance checks and minor repairs. WSCC deputy leader Lionel Barnard, who has responsibility for highway and transport issues, said: "This route is shared between cyclists and pedestrians so both need to be considerate to each other.
"As long as cyclists follow a few basic safety tips, like giving way to pedestrians and using a bell when needed, the route should be a great success."
