New entertainment venue to be built in Shrewsbury
Work on a new £20m entertainment venue for Shrewsbury, Shropshire, will begin in October this year.
The development will combine a number of attractions, including a 650-seat concert auditorium, an additional live music venue and two café bars.
Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council has appointed Willmott Dixon Construction from Hertfordshire to develop the complex.
The architect is Liverpool-based Austin Smith Lord, who has worked with Wilmott Dixon on a similar project in Newport, Wales. Details: www.willmottdixon.co.uk
