New equipment for Western Isles facilities
Two leisure centres located on the Outer Hebrides of Scotland are set to benefit from the installation of new cardiovascular equipment under plans announced by the local authority.
Comhairle nan Eilean Siar - the Western Isles Council - has revealed that Technogym will supply Ionad Spòrs Leòdhais, Stornoway, and the Lionacleit Sports Centre in Benbecula with the new machines. A new strength and conditioning area is also currently being created at Ionad Spòrs Leòdhais as part of the council's wider investment in local facilities. The new machines will be installed from 16 August.
Ionad Spòrs Leòdhais facilities manager Tony Wade said: "We hope that service users will understand that some disruption is unavoidable during this time. "The new equipment will have many exciting new features, including eco-friendly low running costs which will make 40 per cent efficiency savings on energy."
