A exercise therapy and consultation room has been unveiled at Birchwood Leisure Centre in Lincoln, following a £30,000 investment by the City of Lincoln Council and Active Nation.
The new facility has been created using existing budgets and equipment in conjunction with funding from NHS Lincolnshire to provide a space for low-impact fitness sessions.
Three Power Plate machines were installed as part of the scheme, while the exercise therapy and consultation room also incorporates a private exercise space and a consultation area.
Exercise sessions are now available to those referred by a health professional, with specialist groups for Multiple Sclerosis patients, new mothers and weight management issues.
City of Lincoln Council's Donald Nannestad said: "We want to address many disadvantages in the city, including health inequalities, so to have a facility like this is excellent news."
