New facilities unveiled at Disneyland Hotel
An immersive water play area for guests of all ages is among the new facilities to be opened at Disneyland Resort's Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, California, US.
The revitalised pool area incorporates the Monorail Slide Pool with two waterslides - a 26ft (7.9m)-tall larger slide measuring 187ft (57m) in length and a 13ft (4m)-high second one. Younger visitors can use a third, two-lane mini-slide and a series of bubble jets, while the D Ticket-themed, 4ft (1.2m)-deep pool is situated adjacent to the Monorail Slide Pool.
The new pool area also incorporates the Minnie Mouse-themed spa, which will be joined by a Mickey Mouse-themed facility in late 2011 alongside the E Ticket pool. Other upgrades have included the renaming of the hotel's three guest room towers after the lands of Disneyland, with the Dreams Tower becoming the Adventure Tower.
The Wonder Tower will become the Frontier Tower, while the Magic Tower - to be finished in late 2011 - is to be called the Fantasy Tower. New dining locations have also been developed as part of the upgrade, which forms part of a two-year transformation of the Disneyland Hotel.
Tony Bruno, vice president of resort hotels and Downtown Disney, said: "These nostalgic enhancements not only highlight the hotel's unique heritage, but also our continued investment in the guest experience and our ongoing work to evolve the resort and Anaheim into a world-class, multi-day tourist destination."
