New facility opens at Sydney sports complex
A new AU$3m (£1.9m, EUR2.2m, US$3.1m) Training and Administration Centre has been officially unveiled at Blacktown International Sportspark Sydney, Australia.
The facility will provide a home to the Greater Western Sydney (GWS) Giants, who are due to join the Australian Football League (AFL) Premiership next year. Comprising five linked buildings, the new centre includes an elite gym; changing rooms; an outdoor deck area; office space for 100 staff; and match review and player support areas.
Sports science and medical treatment rooms are also among the facilities at the Training and Administration Centre, which will also house a number of other club departments. GWS Giants chair Tony Shepherd said: "[We] are committed to establishing a community based football club that is truly representative of the people of Greater Western Sydney."
